After eight generations and over two decades of development, it's more than just the fastest Tarmac ever: it's the fastest racing bike in the world.

Aerodynamics or lightness alone don't win races: speed is what matters. To achieve that speed, it's necessary to create an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and compliance. Through race simulations with real data, our Ride Science team knows that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest racing bike ever made on the routes that matter: 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster in Milan San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the legendary climb of the Tourmalet.

Now, the fastest racing bike in the world is joining the SRAM RED AXS group with power meter, the lightest electronic groupset ever made, and a set of Roval Rapide CLX II wheels ready for tubeless. All S-Works Tarmac SL8 models come with a Roval Rapide cockpit to save weight and achieve the fastest possible handling position.

  • AERO IN EVERYTHING: We're investing in aerodynamics where it's needed most, at the leading edge, not just where it looks good. In the process, we've created our most aerodynamic road bike. Yes, it's more aerodynamic than the Venge. Clean air is optimized for maximum advantage with the Tarmac's new front cone: the Speed Sniffer. By moving the steering tube back - the tube that determines the width of the steering tube - the leading edge of the steering tube can be much sharper, offering a much lower aerodynamic resistance shape. Taking advantage of the new UCI standards, the Tarmac SL8 has the narrowest and most aerodynamic seat post we've ever made, ensuring that the contaminated air circulating rapidly around the legs can flow back cleaner. Doesn't victory smell sweet?

  • MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMICS: The Tarmac SL8 was based on the experience of the Aethos to be easily manufactured with minimal UCI and a complete aerodynamic setup. The team has created an amazing frame of 685 grams, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and any other bike in the World Tour*. With the ability to make lightness an absolute priority in the down tube, seat tube, and rear of the bike, the lessons of Aethos were applied. The frame shape carries the load so efficiently that additional layers of carbon stiffness become redundant. *Unless, of course, you count the time Kasper Asgreen raced with our 585-gram Aethos frame during a stage of the Tour.

  • DEVILISH PACE, HEAVENLY RIDE: With a huge increase in the stiffness-to-weight ratio - a 33% improvement over the SL7 - the Tarmac SL8 takes the legendary ride quality, aggressive response, and proven World Championship geometry to the next level. The bike is stiffer on the pedals, more precise at the handlebars, and combines it with a pleasant ride on the saddle that sets a new benchmark for the comfort of racing bikes. Thanks to our Rider-First engineering, all riders, regardless of size, get the same unprecedented ride quality. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more comfort, floating over rough roads with a unique comfort feeling in the world of racing bikes. The proven geometry of the Tarmac and the wheel clearance of up to 32 mm are identical to those of the SL7, ensuring easy adaptation and versatility to mount larger volume tires when needed.

  • BEYOND GENDER: There can be more difference between two male cyclists than between a man and a woman. Gender alone does not provide enough data to specialize, which means creating male or female bikes is arbitrary and obsolete. All cyclists can get the advantages of the next level of the Tarmac SL8. It's time to go beyond gender.
