The S-Works FACT 12r frame is our highest quality carbon frame, offering the perfect combination of lightness and specific stiffness.
The full FACT carbon S-Works fork with tapered construction provides incredible front-end stiffness and steering response for instant acceleration and high-speed descents.
The legendary CeramicSpeed bottom bracket ensures saving every last watt.
The Tarmac has an exceptional palmares, winning every Grand Tour, two World Championships... So you might ask, why a new Tarmac? Well, we've never been ones to rest on our laurels, constantly seeking even the smallest improvement. In other words, innovate or die. That's exactly why the new S-Works Tarmac breaks all traditions in race bike design to create the fastest bike in any condition.
For manufacturing, we used advanced aerospace composite software that revolutionizes the crafting and laminating of our new FACT 12r carbon. It's the most advanced material and structure we've ever used, allowing us to shed nearly 200 grams. That's almost 20% of the frame weight, the perfect recipe for your next climb.
We've also made significant strides in enhancing our Rider-First Engineered™ technology to ensure the new Tarmac is stiff and efficient where it matters, while greatly reducing weight. From different layup programs and materials to visibly different forks, we've scrutinized every aspect of the new Tarmac to ensure a flawless ride.
This overhaul includes updated geometry based on extensive Retül data and input from professional riders. This enabled us to develop efficient road geometry that perfects the combination of responsive front-end and short wheelbase, delivering instant response and optimal power transfer.
And while stiffness aids as mentioned earlier, efficiency must also be delivered for optimal ride quality. Hence, we've designed a seatpost that offers efficiency in its upper 120mm, without clamps, dropped stays, or altering the shape of the seat tube.
In addition, we've added clearance for up to 30mm tires, meaning a 28mm Turbo Cotton on Roval CLX 50 wheels. This allows for lower pressures, less rolling resistance, greater traction, and more comfort. Together, these additions make the Tarmac a true racing machine, smoothing out even the roughest roads. You'll thank us on your next long ride.
Furthermore, we understand that aerodynamics are crucial to making you faster. Both our Bora-Hansgrohe and Quick-Step Floors Pro Tour riders demand improvements in bike aerodynamics.
With this in mind, the aerodynamic goal was to find where we could "add free speed aerodynamically," without sacrificing any of the distinctive Tarmac design features.
During the six-month creation process, three areas were identified where we could achieve this, with a new fork shape, dropped stays with aerodynamic tubes, and a D-shaped seatpost and seat tube. The result? A bike approximately 45 seconds faster every 40 km than other lightweight bikes in the same category.
