The Stumpjumper 15's greatest innovation is GENIE. This patent-pending pneumatic shock technology we've invented fulfills any rider's three wishes: the feel and control of a spring, better bottom-out prevention than a standard air shock, and an adjustable "platform" for a playful feel.

ILLUMINATING GENIE:

GENIE combines the linear elasticity rate of a spring that improves control in the "bump zone" with the progressive elasticity rate of an air spring at the end of the travel to prevent bottoming out. Truly, it's the best of both worlds, spring and air, with greater adjustability. Say goodbye to compromises and hello to the future of riding: With bump force management 16.3% better than a traditional air shock, GENIE makes the Stumpy 15 ride like a bike with more travel. For example, the Stumpjumper 15 (with 145 mm of rear wheel travel) and our Enduro (170 mm of travel) use 101 mm of travel to absorb a bump force of 1080 N.

Extensive field testing shows that the Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE offers 57% more traction than a standard air shock, as GENIE technology provides flexible, spring-like performance that keeps the wheel in contact with the ground a greater percentage of the time than a typical air shock.

GOODBYE BOTTOM-OUTS:

39% fewer bottom-outs than a standard shock. During big impacts, it takes advantage of the steep rise rate in the last 30% of the GENIE's travel. Because of this pronounced two-stage rise rate, GENIE reduces the frequency and severity of bottom-out impacts.
