GENIE - The Magic Carpet Ride:

The Stumpjumper 15's greatest innovation is GENIE. This patent-pending pneumatic shock technology fulfills any rider's three wishes: the feel and control of a coil, better bottom-out prevention than a standard air shock, and an adjustable "platform" for playful feel.

ILLUMINATING GENIE:

GENIE combines the linear elasticity rate of a coil enhancing control in the "bump zone" with the progressive elasticity rate of an air spring at the end of travel to prevent bottoming out. Truly, it's the best of both worlds, coil and air, with greater adjustability. Say goodbye to compromises and hello to the future of riding: With 16.3% better bump force management than a traditional air shock, GENIE makes the Stumpy 15 ride like a bike with more travel. For example, the Stumpjumper 15 (with 145mm of rear-wheel travel) and our Enduro (170mm of travel) use 101mm of travel to absorb a bump force of 1080 N.

AMPLE TRACTION:

Extensive field testing shows the Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE offers 57% more traction than a standard air shock, as GENIE technology provides a flexible, coil-like performance that keeps the wheel in contact with the ground for a greater percentage of time than a typical air shock.

GOODBYE BOTTOM-OUTS:

39% fewer bottom-outs than a standard shock. During big impacts, it takes advantage of the steep rise rate in the last 30% of GENIE travel. Because of this two-stage steep rise rate, GENIE reduces the frequency and severity of bottom-out impacts.

OPTIMIZED GEOMETRY:

This bike's geometry offers big bike capability when you need it, playful feel on playful sections, and agile, efficient climbing behavior. The generous cockpit places you centered on the bike, optimizing traction and control in turns. Low bottom bracket, slack head angle, and optimized fork offset maintain stability on rough terrain.

With our aftermarket shocks, you can choose between large wheels front and rear or mix things up with a 27.5" rear for more responsive, playful riding. No matter what you choose, geometry remains unaffected.
