The Scalpel SE is the perfect bike for marathon racers and those who want to fly on the trails. With the speed of a World Cup XC and the confidence of an all-mountain, it represents a new level within cross-country bikes.
High-speed trails
Trail at “full gas”
Suspension and traction at a higher level. The Scalpel SE's patented FlexPivot system provides greater traction to the rear wheel, more control, and more speed, with 120 smooth millimeters of travel that feel like more. It's perfect for spending the day racking up trails at full throttle.
The progressive geometry of the Scalpel XC is enhanced with a more relaxed and stable 67º head angle, combined with a short stem, higher volume tires, and a longer dropper post. If you enjoy hitting trails at a very high pace, with precision and control, then this bike is for you.
It is the key to the incredible suspension performance of the Scalpel and its surprising lightness. The flattened sections of the chainstays, designed in carbon fiber and patented, create the effect of a Horst Link pivot, and are lighter and stiffer than ball bearings. Incredibly durable. Incredibly flexible. And totally maintenance-free.
Unlike the competition, which uses the same suspension kinematics across all frame sizes, we customize our suspension design for each size, so that every rider, from the smallest to the tallest, can experience the same suspension performance.
Compatible with STASH kit. Everything you need for a quick repair on the trail, in a lightweight and well-secured kit under the bottle cage. Quick and easy.
The integrated wheel sensor reads your activity (like speed, distance, and calories burned), logs your bike, reminds you if it needs maintenance, and much more, all through the Cannondale app.
Our unique offset drivetrain system offers great mud clearance while allowing the chainstays to be super short, gaining traction and agility. It also makes the rear wheel stiffer and more solid.
The hydration you need without having to carry a backpack. Awesome!
