The most versatile road helmet in the peloton, the S-Works Prevail 3 Forward 50 LTD, represents this commitment to keep pedaling for the planet by innovating for cyclists. The gold represents our 50th anniversary and how our desire to improve people's lives through cycling has not lost any of its shine.
The pink evokes our historic Team Stumpjumper and our commitment to compete with an irreverent and rebellious spirit. With a limited supply worldwide, they represent the ultimate expression of the innovate or die attitude that has inspired Specialized for the past 50 years and continues to drive us into the future.
The S-Works Prevail 3 helmet is perfect for cyclists who value comfort and thermoregulation provided by superior ventilation. It is the ultimate in versatile helmets that excel in hot conditions, strenuous climbs, and mountainous stages.
In an endless quest to push the limits of ventilation, we eliminated the foam "bridges" from the center that block air, creating air channels that increase the ventilation surface by 24.5% compared to the S-Works Prevail II Vent helmet. The new S-Works Prevail 3 has the largest ventilation surface of any helmet we've ever made.
When a helmet receives an impact, its function is to dissipate the energy from it. The conventional approach to helmet design is that more foam (EPS) means better energy management. We rewrote the book on cycling helmet design by innovating beyond foam. Aramid-woven "cables" run through the helmet and anchor to the carbon fiber side panels. In the event of an impact, the AirCage* technology acts like a suspension bridge and is designed to distribute localized forces throughout the helmet.
The occipital base adjustment optimizes comfort by customizing the fit to the individual shape of the head, and the helmet's angle can be adjusted for compatibility with glasses. A Tri-Fix adjustable strap system offers riders greater comfort with updated and thinner 10 mm straps that minimize strap noise.
Our ultra-lightweight and extremely comfortable MIPS Node Air technology is integrated directly into the helmet's padding, with a sleek low-friction layer designed to dissipate rotational forces. With Specialized's own development work, we've added perforations to maximize breathability, performance, comfort, and weight savings.
