Of course, it hasn't compromised anything in terms of performance and happens to be the lightest frame on the market, but without compromising style. Aethos: billions of calculations in search of one thing: the perfect ride.

And now, the world's lightest production bike meets the lightest disc brake group in history, the new SRAM RED AXS. Add a gorgeous, limited Glacial Metallic color with custom Roval graphics, silver details, and the new Hammerhead Karoo 3 bike computer. This ultra-light bike will be in high demand with only 100 units worldwide, each individually numbered.

By reinventing the traditional shape of road bikes, we've subtly altered the tube shapes to deliver huge gains in stiffness and balance, all without affecting weight or durability. Add to this a completely new layup process we've perfected over decades, and we get the lightest frame on the market (585 grams, S-Works, size 56cm). The Aethos is more than a new bike, it's the first of a new class.

• A lightweight frame is useless without ride characteristics that inspire confidence, so we've developed the Aethos to have the perfect balance of front and rear stiffness combined with exceptional ride quality. By studying carbon fiber flex and technique, we were able to uncover innovative insights into how forces flow through frames.
